RhodeWorks funding augmented by $576M from IIJA.
Augmenting the core capabilities of the ongoing RhodeWorks program for roads, bridges, resurfacing and localized traffic/safety improvements, the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) is empowering RIDOT to get to over 100 projects sooner than expected. The $576M in IIJA funding also enables the addition of ancillary projects including:
Replacement of deteriorating retaining walls along the I-95 corridor with low-maintenance, environmentally friendly slopes- Paving and resurfacing along all of I-295 plus key sections of Route 146 in northern RI, Route 6 in Johnston, Route 117 in Warwick and Route 114 in East Providence
- Landscaping and other improvements to create an appealing gateway to Rhode Island TF Green International Airport
