RIDOT October 30 quarterly report outlines historic investments.

RhodeWorks funding augmented by $576M from IIJA.

While providing status updates for the numerous projects that comprise the RhodeWorks program, the RIDOT October 30 quarterly report provides a big-picture view of the unprecedented scope and diversity of infrastructure projects already being addressed or soon to be undertaken.

Augmenting the core capabilities of the ongoing RhodeWorks program for roads, bridges, resurfacing and localized traffic/safety improvements, the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) is empowering RIDOT to get to over 100 projects sooner than expected. The $576M in IIJA funding also enables the addition of ancillary projects including:

  • Replacement of deteriorating retaining walls along the I-95 corridor with low-maintenance, environmentally friendly slopes
  • Paving and resurfacing along all of I-295 plus key sections of Route 146 in northern RI, Route 6 in Johnston, Route 117 in Warwick and Route 114 in East Providence
  • Landscaping and other improvements to create an appealing gateway to Rhode Island TF Green International Airport
