FMI leadership training provides value-add for CIRI members.
Free courses covered range of project management topics.
CIRI recently sponsored a series of four executive training sessions conducted by FMI, a leading consulting firm serving construction and related industries. This free customized offering for our members, was held at the Hyatt Place Warwick/Providence Airport: two sessions on February 22 & 23, followed by two sessions on March 16 & 17.
“Knowing it could be difficult for members to attend all four courses — and that some companies would be more interested in certain topics — they were allowed to choose one or any combination of the four courses to suit each individual’s needs,” says Mike D’Ambra, CIRI president.
Presented by FMI principal/partner Gregg Schoppman, the program attracted a total of 59 member attendees across the four sessions.
Each course — Process, Profitability, People & Productivity — was attended by about 30 members.
Every attendee was given a 298-page printed and bound coursebook to use as a follow-along guide, notes repository and post-session reference. The PowerPoint style coursebook, composed by Schoppman, covered all four topics of the offering.
“Having attended a number of seminars and courses over the years,” D’Ambra adds, “we decided to furnish a printed coursebook. It’s easier to use during the live session and handier for reference afterward.”
