2024 return of FMI training well attended by members.

Free series of courses again offered in February/March.

CIRI member participants at the March 7 session with Gregg Schoppman of FMI presenting.

A value-added member benefit introduced last year, CIRI again sponsored a series of four FMI executive training sessions. A leading consulting firm serving construction and related industries, FMI conducted the sessions at Hyatt Place Warwick/Providence Airport — first on February 28 & 29, then on March 6 & 7.

“Having received positive feedback from the people who attended in 2023,” says Mike D’Ambra, CIRI president, “we decided to bring the program back this year. New and previous participants were invited to attend any or all of the sessions. That way, each person could choose any combination of the four courses to suit his or her needs.”

FMI coursebook customized for CIRI

Presented by FMI principal/partner Gregg Schoppman, the program attracted approximately 65 attendees across the four sessions. Each course — Operational Excellence, Financial Superiority, Effective Communication and Leadership — was attended by about 40 members.

Every attendee was given a 310-page printed and bound coursebook — covering all four topics — to use as a follow-along guide, notes repository and post-session reference. Extra coursebooks, currently stored at the CIRI office, are available to members on a first come, first served basis.

In a post-program survey, the attendees gave the FMI courses high marks across multiple criteria. Reasons cited included the quality of the overall content, the use of relevant real-world examples, and the presenter’s ability to impart a great deal of knowledge at a comfortable learning pace.
